The Williston Sea Lions had 25 swimmers participate in tournaments in Mandan and Bismarck over the weekend. At the Bismarck tournament the boys placed second and the girls placed fifth. Between the two events, the Sea Lions had 32 first-place finishes and had 50 state-qualifying times.
“Our team is one of the smaller ones in the State but we are very competitive,” assistant coach Joanna Bales said. “We beat out all but the largest Bismarck team at the meet on Sunday.”
Up next for the Sea Lions, the club will send 91 swimmers on Saturday to Minot to compete in a dual against the Minot Swim Club.
