The Ray High School fall sports teams have had good starts to their season so far.
Here is a look at the teams’ results so far and where they are in the standings.
The Ray/Powers Lake football team is having a hot start to the season, rattling off four straight wins, two of which were blowouts.
The blowout wins came against Lewis and Clark and Kenmare-Bowbells-Burke Central. Ray/Powers Lake also defeated Parshall/White Shield 17-0, and the team defeated Surrey 40-38.
Ray/Powers Lake is also 1-0 in nine-man Region 8 play, putting them in second place behind Divide County, according to the North Dakota High School Activities Association website.
Ray/Powers Lake hosts Tioga on Friday, Sept. 17 in a game that could move teams in the standings depending on the outcome.
The Lady Jays have started the season on a good run, holding a 2-1 District 16 record and a 1-0 Region 8 record.
In the district standings, Ray sits in fourth place, according to the NDHSAA website. The standings are updated as of Friday.
Ahead of Ray in the standings are Divide County, Stanley and Kenmare.
So far this season, Ray holds victories over Hazen, Tioga, Alexander and Powers Lake. The next game for Ray is a home contest on Thursday, Sept. 23 against Bowbells/Burke Central.
