On Wednesday, June 5, the Williston Coyotes boys golf program completed two days of competition at the North Dakota High School Activities Association Class A State Tournament.
With an overall team score of 705, the Coyotes finished last in a 12-team field in Wahpeton. Meanwhile, Grand Forks Red River placed first with a final score of 589.
Cole Heller, who shot a 164 in the two-day tournament, represented Williston’s top golfer at state. James Powers was second on the club with an individual score of 169, and Braedon Borseth’s mark of 180 rounded out Williston’s top three performers.
Also at the meet, Zach Johnson of Bismarck Century was named the NDHSAA’s Senior Athlete of the Year, and Grand Forks Central coach Josh Cichy took home coach of the year honors.
