On Sunday, June 16, the Williston Coyotes shot an overall score of 423, which was good for a 12th place finish at the 2019 Class 2A North Dakota State Clay Target League Tournament, held in Horace over the weekend.
Peyton Hanson, who competed in the boy’s junior varsity division, was Williston’s top shooter. He came in third place, tied with South Prairie’s Connor Johnson with an individual score of 90. Meanwhile in the girls varsity ranks, Anna Glick also tied for third with Jenna Thompson of Mandan as both shooters registered an individual mark of 89.
In the boys varsity category, Traceson Martinez was Williston’s top shooter with his score of 81. In the novice group, Macrae Martinez and Thomas Bender the Coyotes with matching scores of 70. Also competing in the tournament, Mecayla Ralph shot a 56 for Williston in the girls novice group.
