Kolden Krigen broke two school records and won two state championships in the state swim meet.
Kolden Kringen from Williston High School has been nominated for Athlete of the Week. Last weekend during the state meet Kringen won state in two different events and set a new school record in the 500 Free and the 200 IM.Â
Kringen was also awarded the WDA Senior Student Athlete North Dakota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Scholarship award for his excellent senior season.Â
He was also a part of the state winning cross country team earlier in the year. Kringen's competitive drive didn't let the success stop there.Â
"As soon as he got done with that season the following day he was already in the pool swimming," said Joseph Kemp, head coach of the Coyote boys swimming and diving team.
That competition and drive has allowed Kringen to have steady success since he was a freshman.Â
"He is very soft spoken, very polite, very kind person, but I have never coached a competitor like him. He just wants to compete so badly," Kemp said.Â
Congratulations on being named Athlete of the Week! Best wishes on continued success.Â
