North Dakota State University junior Tasha Willing won a bronze medal in the hammer throw at the NACAC U23 Championships in Querétaro, Mexico, this past weekend.
Competing for her native Canada, Willing threw a personal-best 195-2 (59.50m) to finish third in the hammer. She moved up to No. 8 on the NDSU all-time list in the event.
With Willing’s new personal best, the Bison women now have six athletes on the 2019 roster who have surpassed 195 feet in the hammer throw.
NACAC U23 consists of all athletes from North American, Central American and Caribbean countries who are under 23 years old in the 2019 calendar year. Willing is from Chilliwack, British Columbia.
NDSU sophomore Daejha Moss earned a pair of fourth-place finishes for the Bahamas. She cleared 5-08.75 (1.75m) in the high jump to tie for 10th-best in NDSU outdoor history, as well as running on the Bahamas’ fourth-place 4x100m relay team.
