Rick Miller, 68, of Williston, passed away at his daughter’s home in Williston, surrounded by his family and friends, on Saturday afternoon, June 2, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Williston. Rev. Steve Anderson will officiate. Cremation will follow the service and interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Williston at a later date.
Friends may call at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home in Williston on Thursday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM and for the hour preceding the service at the church on Friday.
Richard Dennis Miller was born to Gerald and Carol (Hagen) Miller in Minot, North Dakota on January 19, 1950. He was raised and educated in Williston graduating for Williston High School in 1968.
On July 5, 1974, Rick was united in marriage to Linda Irgens at First Lutheran Church in Williston. The couple made their home in Williston, where they raised their four daughters. They were married for thirty years.
Rick worked several places over the years including working as a rural route mail carrier, OTIS, an area manager for Drillco, a service hand for Rocket Sales and from 1998 until 2015 as a custodian and member of the Williston Moose Lodge #239 where he took great pride in his waxed floors!
Rick enjoyed fishing and tending to his massive garden with Mark Clarys, taking country cruises, Old Milwaukee and pull tabs. He was known for making the best jerky ever and he loved his cats, especially Midnight and Trouble. In his younger years Rick liked to shoot darts and bowling.
Surviving Rick are his daughters, Heather Amity (Nestor), Stephanie Miller (Justin), Chrissy Miller and Tiffany Calhoun (Ryan); brothers, Eldon Miller (Karen), Jerry Miller (Judy), Tim Miller (Clara), Bob Miller, Tom Miller, John Quie, and Allen Quie; sisters, Donna Falcon (Gordon), Sue Melcher (Rod), Linda Magnuson (Steve) and Mary Ferrell (John); seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; uncle, Darrell Hagen; numerous nieces and nephews; one cat, Trouble and two grandcats.
Preceding Rick in death were his parents, Gerald and Carol Miller; granddaughter, Camyrn Lund; Uncle, Red (Beryle), uncle, Lefty (Jean), aunt, Helen and one beloved cat, Midnight.
