A 37-year-old Watford City man has been arrested and accused of repeatedly molesting a teenage girl.
Morgan Walker was charged Wednesday, Feb. 27, with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a class AA felony. Investigators from the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office claim that Walker sexually assaulted a girl multiple times between October 2016 and December 2017.
Deputies began investigating after the girl’s mother reported the alleged abuse on Dec. 26, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in Northwest District Court. When the woman confronted Walker, he denied the accusations.
The girl was interviewed by a counselor in January and reported at least three separate incidents where Walker molested her, charging documents indicate. All three of those incidents happened between the time she was 13 and 15 years old.
The girl told the counselor that at one point, Walker told her that she could tell him to stop, investigators wrote in the probable cause affidavit.
“(The girl) stated she told him to stop and he never did,” court records state.
Walker was arrested Thursday, Feb. 28, and has a bond hearing scheduled for Friday, March 1. He is set to have a preliminary hearing March 21 on the charge, which carries a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without parole if he is convicted.
