Update: Driver in fatal crash south of Williston identified

A Watford City man died in a collision with a semi on Highway 85 during Friday night's storm.

He was traveling south in a Ford pickup near mile marker 178, approximately five miles south of Williston, when he lost control and crossed into the northbound lanes, according to a news release from North Dakota Highway Patrol. 

He then collided with a Western Star Truck hauling a sand trailer that was traveling northbound. 

The pickup driver, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release. His identity hasn't been released. 

The semi driver, a 67-year-old man from Bridger, Montana, was transported to CHI St. Alexius in Williston. He suffered serious but non-life-theatening injuries. 

The road was icy with blowing snow and a no-travel advisory was in place, according to the release.
