A 29-year-old Watford City man was charged with three felonies after police say he pointed a pistol at another man, then gave the gun to a neighbor to hide it from police.
Dustin Chabrier was charged with terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence, all class C felonies. He was ordered held Monday on $15,000 bond.
Chabrier is accused of pointing a gun and threatening to kill a man who was returning a welding bottle, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Police found the gun, a Millennium Pro .45-caliber handgun, at a neighbor’s apartment.
The neighbor told police Chabrier had come to her door and asked her to hold onto the gun, charging documents state. Chabrier has a 2014 felony conviction out of Minnesota that bars him from owning a handgun.
