On Saturday afternoon, the second annual “Life Light Christian Festival” at the McKenzie County Fairgrounds in Watford City, ND started out wet but the rain stopped. As temperatures warmed, BMX bikes jumped, motorcycles from “Zero Gravity Outreach” flew, Josh Brewer preached and five bands played concerts.
Children’s activities were not forgotten. The youngsters were busy painting rocks. making balloon animals and watched and joined into a live show by “Burnnie the Bunny” of children’s TV series The Burnnie Show.
Cade Thompson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was first, followed by Bread of Stone from Sioux City, Iowa, then Sanctus Real from Toledo, Ohio, White Ribbon Day from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and then the headlining alternative Christian rock band Switchfoot took the stage. DJ Peacock MC’ed the festival.
Switchfoot started in 1996 and their 2003 album “Beautiful Letdown” sold over 2.6 million copies.
The festival drew a crowd of between 800 and 1,000.
