Williston State College’s Devan Turcotte scored in the seventh shootout Saturday night to lift the Tetons to a 6-5 win over Minot State University in Minot.
The win gives the Tetons a split of the weekend series with the Beaves. Minot State won on Friday night 8-2.
The Tetons raced out to a 3-1 lead after the first period of Saturday night’s contest. Darius Cole, Logan Millican and John Cavan each scored for the Tetons.
Minot State got a goal back late in the first and then tied the contest with two goals in the second period.
In the third period, Millican added his second and third goals of the night to help the Tetons extend the game into overtime.
Tyler Ampe had 37 saves for the Tetons.
“This is yet another huge win for our program,” said Williston State College coach Seamus Gregory. “We are moving in the right direction. We tweaked the line-up tonight and we are very happy with the rookies and how they stepped up, we have a lot of potential and it’s early.”
The Tetons (3-2) will now begin a six-game road trip, starting next weekend at Arizona State University.
