Red River holds off WHS at state, 47-42
The Williston High girls basketball team fought tooth-and-nail with the state's top-ranked team, but lost to Grand Forks Red River in the closing minutes 47-42 in the opening round of the Class A state tournament in Bismarck.
Big runs lifts Mandaree to title game victory
The Mandaree Warriors used a 18-4 run over the course of the second and third periods to pull away for a 70-56 win over the New Town Eagles in the Class B Region 8 boys basketball tournament title game on Thursday evening at The Well in Williston.
Lady Coyotes open state tourney today
The Williston Lady Coyotes will open the Class A state basketball tournament this evening with an opening-round game against the Grand Forks Red River Roughriders at Exhibit Hall in Bismarck at 8 p.m.
