Kermit Richard Johnson, 82, of Shell Beach, Calif., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept., 29, 2012, at Marian Hospital in Santa Maria, Calif.

He was born in North Dakota in 1929 and moved to California in 1958 with his wife, Dorothy.  They settled in Shell Beach, where they raised their five children.

After Kermit retired from Weber’s Bread Company in 1991, he began a second career — he coached his beloved Dodgers from the comfort of his recliner chair.

Kermit also greatly enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his family.

Kermit is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Jean Johnson; their five children; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a beloved extending family including their wonderful and caring Shell Beach neighbors.

A memorial service was help Sept. 21 at Lady Family Mortuary in Arroya Granda, Calif. A reception was held the same day.
