Two men were injured when a pickup crossed the center line and collided with a semi truck Friday morning near Tioga.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports Daniel Groover, 36, of Cheyenne, Wyo., was driving a 2001 Chevrolet pickup north of Highway 40 from Tioga.
At the same time, Luis Linhares of Missoula, Mont. was driving a 2012 Kenworth semi south on the same highway.
At mile marker 14, approximately 10 miles from Tioga, the Chevrolet drifted across the center line in front of the Kenworth.
Linhares slammed on his brakes and swerved in an attempt to avoid the collision, but the Chevrolet slammed into the side of the Kenworth.
The crash occurred in a construction zone where the posted speed limit was 25 mph.
According to the highway patrol, charges are pending against Groover.
The Chevrolet sustained heavy front end damage after striking the left side of the Kenworth. The semi sustained damage along its left side.
Both men were injured in the accident and were transported by Tioga Ambulance to the hospital in Tioga and later to Trinity Hospital in Minot. Linhares was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
The highway patrol and the Williams County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the accident.
