Police said Thursday they were planning on filing more charges against two people involved in a car crash that occurred Wednesday night on Second Avenue West.
According to a news release from the Northwest Narcotics Task Force, Katlynn Wuorio, 23, and Dustin Haukenberry, 31, were arrested on drug charges, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of heroin with intent to deliver. Charges had not yet been filed in Northwest District Court Thursday afternoon.
The Williston police said Wednesday evening that an officer had tried to pull over the car that Wuorio was driving and Haukenberry was riding in just before 6 p.m. when Wuorio drove away. Moments later, Wuorio’s car crashed into another on Second Avenue West.
The pair both ran from the crash scene but were arrested shortly after. Charges of fleeing police and resisting arrest were filed in Williston Municipal Court Thursday against Haukenberry, while charges of fleeing police and reckless driving are pending against Wuorio, according to a news release from the Williston Police Department. Wuorio was cited for driving without liability insurance on Thursday, according to court records.
The Northwest Narcotics Task Force got a search warrant for Wuorio’s home and arrested another person, as well. Jessica Popp, 37, was arrested on drug and drug paraphernalia charges, according to the task force’s news release.
A search of Wuorio’s home turned up a 9mm pistol, as well as drugs and drug paraphernalia, officers said.
