A Duluth, Minn. man was killed after a fracking accident Saturday north of Watford City that also left another man injured.
Michael A. Krajewski, 49, was working at the Halliburton fracking location at about 3:30 p.m. at the time of the accident, which is being investigated by OSHA, according to the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office. Brad Hong, 55, of Halliday was also injured in the accident, a press release said.
The well location, Koala 154-97-15-34-27, is 24 miles north of Watford City and owned by Kodiak Oil and Gas.
Kodiak did not respond to calls for comment at press time, but Halliburton spokeswoman Tara Mullee-Agard said in an email that Halliburton is “saddened” to report the death of an employee.
“This is a very difficult time for all of us at Halliburton and our thoughts and prayers are with our employee’s loved ones,” Mullee-Agard said. “We continue to work with local authorities as they look into details of this incident.”
Mullee-Agard said Halliburton would not be releasing additional information out of respect for family privacy.
