A head-on automobile accident occurred Monday around 7:10 a.m. on highway 85 near the 168 mile marker in McKenzie County.
According to an accident report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 2000 Pontiac driven by Steven Bertelsen was traveling south bound and crossed the center line, striking a north bound 2001 Western Star driven by Jaryd Baird.
Bertelsen, 23, of Libby, Mont. was injured and was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Williston.
He also received severe front-end damage to his Pontiac two-door vehicle.
Baird, 37, was not injured during the accident. He received front-end damage to the driver’s side of his vehicle.
