Williston Auto

A former employee of Williston Auto is accused of breaking into the business Thursday and stealing cash and other items.

Police also say that when he was arrested, Levi Muse had a microSD card with child pornography on it.

Muse, 32, is facing three felony charges: burglary, theft and possession of child pornography.

Williston police responded to a report of a burglary at Williston Auto on Thursday morning, according to an affidavit of probable cause. An employee told officers that when she came in at 6 a.m. that day, she noticed the upstairs office area had been recently mopped and a door was unlocked.

Police say a door had been pried open and that $1,000 in cash and a jump starter worth $180 were missing. Officers found drug paraphernalia and a Deadpool keychain with keys, a flashlight and two green carabiners in a garbage can.

While police were investigating, an employee from a nearby business told an officer that a man appeared to be watching them. Officers wrote in charging documents that man was Muse.

Muse had been fired from Williston Auto for what a manager described as erratic behavior about a month ago, court records said. Muse told the manager that he would “be sorry” when he was fired.

When officers frisked Muse, they found a 4GB microSD card, according to court records. Muse agreed to allow them to look at the contents of the card and also agreed to talk with officers at his apartment.

After Muse took officers to his apartment building, he told them he’d lost his keys and gave a description matching the keychain found at Williston Auto, a detective wrote in the affidavit of probable cause. He also told police he had a one-hitter style pipe that looked like a cigarette, and after he was told police had found a similar item at Williston Auto, he said his DNA might be on it.

When police searched the microSD card they found on Muse, they discovered an image of a naked girl who appeared to be between 12 and 14 years old, according to court documents.

A date for a bond hearing for Muse had not been set Friday afternoon.
