Coborn’s, Inc. is beginning the process of hiring full-time and part-time employees for its new 47,000-square-foot Cash Wise Foods and 5,000-square-foot Cash Wise Liquor in Watford City. The stores are set to open the summer of 2013. Cash Wise Foods will anchor a $20 million retail shopping center located at the corner of U.S. Highway 85 and the Highway 23 bypass, which recently celebrated a groundbreaking celebration. Cash Wise Liquor will be conveniently located across the parking lot.

Cash Wise in Watford City will employ about 115 local residents. Fifty-three will be full-time positions and 62 will be part-time positions.

Available positions range from customer service, cashiers and entry-level management to a wide range of specialty and food service positions. Training will be provided to all employees to develop their personal and professional skills.

Coborn’s, Inc. currently owns Mike’s Super Valu in Watford City, which it acquired from Watford City natives Mike and Sue Tschetter in December 2012. Mike and Sue’s sons, David and Keith Tschetter will lead Cash Wise Foods and Cash Wise Liquor as store manager and liquor store manager, respectively. Together they bring more than 21 years of grocery retail experience and a deep commitment to serving Watford City to their new roles. Along with David and Keith, the team of 40 employees from Mike’s Super Valu will transition to Cash Wise.

Cash Wise in Watford City will be the company’s seventh store in North Dakota. Measuring nearly five times the size of Mike’s Super Valu, it will feature a vast assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, full-service meat and seafood, full-service deli, bakery, grocery and household products and more – all available at value pricing for extreme savings. Cash Wise Liquor will feature thousands of varieties of beer spirits and wine.
