Airline boardings soared 247 percent at Sloulin Field International Airport in September.
Statewide enplanements were up almost 9 percent at North Dakota’s eight largest airports with total boardings at 6,799 more than in September 2012.
Williston registered a total of 7,900 boardings with an increase of 5,623 from a year ago. Year-to-date stats showed Williston at 67,558 boardings, an increase of 43,585 from 2012 at 182 percent.
“Its about where we expected to be at,” said airport manager Steven Kjergaard. “We also have United and Delta adding another flight next month.”
He added Williston’s airport is designed for more than 6,000 passengers a year.
Statewide year-to-date numbers were 843,599, an increase of 79,439 (10.4 percent) from 2012.
