Williston Trinity Christian School is hosting a talk about how science confirms the Bible today at 7 p.m.
The speaker, Dr. Jobe Martin, runs Biblical Discipleship Ministries with his wife and two daughters. The talk, which is free and open to the public, will take place at the school.
Martin was a biology major at Bucknell University, then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. He served as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force for two years and then went into private practice, according to a biography provided by the school.
“While a professor at Baylor College of Dentistry, Dr. Martin became a young earth creationist, and after receiving his Masters in Theology, went into full-time ministry with his wife and two daughters,” the biography reads. “Their ministry focuses primarily on family discipleship, creation, and biblical discernment.”
Martin’s visit is part of the school’s Spring Spiritual Emphasis Week. In addition to the public talk, he and his family will be at the school throughout the week to give presentations and speak with students.
Among the presentations planned are “Discipleship in the Family Starts with Dads: How Do We Make God ‘Real’ to Our Children?” today at 7 a.m. That presentation, for the men’s breakfast group, will offer five key Scriptures to combat problems within the family.
On Wednesday, Martin will give a presentation to parents at the school. In “Teaching Your Children to Love Jesus,” Martin will share parenting advice on how he and his wife raised their two daughters with the anticipation that teen rebellion was not an “expected” part of life.
