The Williston State College women's basketball team got double-doubles from Jamie Njos and Christine Miller on Monday night en route to a 73-65 win over United Tribes at the Well.

The Lady Tetons got a 24-point, 10-rebound performance from Williston product Njos, and Miller scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

"I thought we played very good team defense for the most part tonight," said coach Tom Suelzle. "They got a few unguarded looks, but we played pretty good defense in the first half and held them to 22 points. I was pretty happy with our defense. We took good shots and got the ball to the people we needed to. Jamie Njos had a big game for us offensively and hit some shots, and we got the ball to Christine (Miller) in there."

Williston State led from the opening basket, but the Lady T-Birds refused to go away. The largest lead was 54-39 in the second half, but with 90 seconds to play it was down to three points at 67-64 after former Teton Kristin Bearstail converted a three-point play.

But Abby Nasset continued a strong inside game by driving to the basket and answering with a three-point play of her own to help seal the deal. United Tribes committed just 11 turnovers in the game against WSC's 22, but the visitor's offense sputtered on 7-of-36 shooting on 3-pointers. Njos hit five of the Tetons' six 3-pointers on 10 attempts.

Nasset had 12 points and six rebounds for WSC, and Paige Anderson had nine points and five assists.

The Tetons play at Miles Community College on Wednesday, and they will be home against Central Wyoming on Saturday and Sunday.
