If she comes close to matching that success in her new found sport, the rest of the state better take notice.
Bolinske made her amateur boxing debut Saturday night in the Ringside at the Well on the campus of Williston State College in Williston.
And her debut has to be deemed a success as she scored a victory by decision over Minot's Kayla Bordy in a 140-pound match.
"It was really intense," Bolinske said of being in the boxing ring. "It's really tiring. And lots of hard work (to get into the ring)." Saturday night's bout was a three-rounder with each round lasting 1.5 minutes.
"It was really even match," she said. "It could have gone either way."
Both fighters exchanged shots to both the head and body of the opponent.
"You lose your air really quick," Bolinske said.
Bolinske picked up the sport three weeks ago as a way to keep busy.
"Some of my friends were into it," she said. "I was looking for something new."
Bolinske was among eight Williston fighters to take to the ring Saturday night.
Fighters from Grand Forks, Minot, Parshall and Fairview, Mont., traveled to Williston for the event.
