Ground is to be broken in the spring, with construction likely to be completed some time in 2011. Trinity Health announced the project Thursday afternoon, which is to combine its two current facilities in Williston into one centralized location.
Minot's Trinity Health plans to build a new health care clinic in Williston to combine its two current facilities into one larger central location.

The new clinic is be located off of West Dakota Parkway just north of Herman Oil.

Thomas Warsocki, vice president of Physician Services, visited Williston Thursday from Minot. He said the idea of combining facilities is something Trinity Health has been talking about for nearly six years.

"Plans have really begun in earnest for about six months, meeting with physicians and administration about blue prints and space," said Warsocki.

Warsocki said placing Trinity Community Clinic-Western Dakota and Trinity Regional Eyecare-Williston Center into one building provides several benefits for Trinity employees and patients. First is the increased space. "We're pretty cramped right now and this will provide wider hallways, elevators between floors and provide facilities that quite honestly we don't have right now," said Warsocki.

The two-story clinic is to be about 40,000 square feet, an upgrade from a combined 30,000 square feet for the two current buildings. Warsocki said having one central location also provides more convenience to patients.

"It will house everything that we provide from our primary care center, eye care and our ambulatory surgery center," said Warsocki.

Warsocki said ground on the new clinic is to be broken in the spring. He said construction is estimated to take between seven and 18 months. Warsocki said the project is likely to be completed later in 2011.

The building housing Trinity Community Clinic is currently for sale, but Warsocki said the clinic is remaining open until the new building is completed.

Warsocki also said Trinity doesn't have a set estimated on what the new facility is cost.

"Plans are still being finished and won't be in until March 1 and we still have to go out for bids. It's too early to actually have a very accurate estimate at this point," said Warsocki.

He added there are other advantages to having a new centralized clinic, such as better handicap access.

"It'll give physicians and handicapped patients better access to each other. Also, it's always easier to recruit physicians to a new facility," said Warsocki.

Warsocki said the reaction from employees of a new facility is very positive.

Looking forward, Warsocki said Trinity Health is excited about the further progress and expansion of its Williston service in the coming months.

"We want to be a good partner to Williston as best we can," he said.

" Western Dakota has provided ambulatory surgery for years so this will be nothing new. "

" Steve, been there done that, you get what you pay for, cheap, cheap, cheap. Got a prescription and it made my vision WORSE. By that I mean that the glasses were not even close to what they should be. Took my script to trinity, had an eye exam and the doc just laughed at how off the script was. And when I tried to take my glasses back they refused to take them back because I went somewhere else. "

" To Iknow...I wasn't aware that going to Walmart for eye care needs was for people with a certain "status". They do a very nice job over there. You might come down to my status sometime and give it a try. The new Trinity Clinic looks very nice. Will be a nice new building when completed which is truly something this town needs. "

" I think having Trinity Clinic expand with surgery centers is great. It is another option for Williston residents. I am sure it will have little impact on Mercy...Mercy has their clients and TRinity has theirs...the only difference, is now the Trinity clients will not have to drive to Minot. Williston is growing and gives new and current residents another option. Also, with more options, other residents from smaller communities may opt to come to Williston for medical rather than drive all the way to Minot for the surgeries that Trinity in Minot already does for their Williston referals. Now they will stay in Williston instead of driving to Minot. I see this as a win win for Williston. "

" this clinic will be a great addition to the community, seeings how it is a privetly owned company that will yes benefit from the oilfield employees, walmart employees, and every other companies employes, and from surrounding communities, which tells me that is is more tax dollars for the city of Williston. Im sure that the people against the idea of a new clinic dont stop to think of the cost of the rental space for the eye clinic or the upkeep on the old building they happen to be in right now "

    " To Ugh
Sounds like to me that your one of the people in this town that doesn't want us to expand. And as for the cost, you can either go to Walmart (probably already do) for your eye-care needs or to Craven Hagen. "
