Her funeral is at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, in the Chapel at the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, Williston. The Rev. Christopher Raiford is officiating. Interment is to follow in the Hillside Memory Gardens.
Clara "Peggy" Johnson was born on Feb. 14, 1924, in Williston to Norman and Minnie (Thomas) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Cow Creek Township and Williston.
Peggy worked as a waitress at the East Broadway Café and later as a cook at the Bethel Lutheran Home. She met her future husband, "Kilowatt", while she was waitressing at the East Broadway Café.
Peggy was united in marriage to Walter "Kilowatt" Frank on Aug. 7, 1949, at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Williston. It was the hottest day of the year with the temperature reaching 107 degrees. The couple established their home in Williston where they raised their family. Peggy’s home was the gathering place for her family, friends and nieces and nephews. She always had lunch ready with some lefse or her famous potato salad.
Peggy enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, quilting and gardening.
Peggy is survived by her husband of sixty years, Walter "Kilowatt" Frank, Williston; her children, Paulette and her husband, Don Olson, Bismarck and their children, Jennifer (Jason) Blais, Boise, Idaho and Mikael (Kelli) Olson of Boulder, Colo.; David Frank, Boise; Becky and her husband, Al Weninger, and their children, Casey, Patrick and Scott Weninger, all of Bismarck; James Frank and his wife, Lucy, Mandan; three great-grandchildren, Elliot, Avery and Lexi Blais, all of Boise; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Minnie Johnson; three brothers, Lloyd, Chester and Kenneth; and three sisters, Elva Kjos, Ella Schmidt and Beatrice Johnson.
