The Williston State College women basketball team finished third in the Mon-Dak conference tournament with a win on 75-72 victory against Bismarck State College on Saturday in Williston.

The Tetons built up a first-half lead and saw it chipped down in the second half, but they held on in the final minutes.

Paige Anderson scored 27 points for the Tetons, hitting big from the outside early and often, finishing the game with seven three-pointers on nine attempts. Those outside shots opened up the lane for Christine Miller, who scored 25 points for Williston State.

"We ran our offenses pretty smoothly, and right away we were getting easy looks," Anderson said.

They trailed 71-70 with just under two minutes to play, but Miller's scored a pair of baskets in the closing minutes and Anderson hit two free-throws to close out the game with 0.4 seconds left. Bismarck State's court-length buzzer-beater missed. On Friday, the Tetons lost to Miles Community College 71-70. Miller had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Abby Nasset had 18 points and 10 rebounds in the game.

The three games in three nights should help the Tetons get their legs under them in the early season.

"Before this, you could tell we were struggling sometimes in our games, you could tell we were getting tired," Anderson said. "But these three games should help us get into game shape."

The Tetons have some time off now before the North Idaho Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 27 and Nov. 28.

" Why wouldn't you post ALL OF THE SCORES for the Mon-Dak tourney???? geeze, first time on the site and I can safely say I might not come back to it.

Who won the women's Mon-Dak since WSC took 3rd? Stats? What about the 3r-4th place men's game. "
