Mallory Nygard of Clever Clovers 4-H Club and Kariss Kjos of Sweet Clovers 4-H Club were named the 2009 Williams County Outstanding 4-H’ers.

Mallory started her 4-H career as a Cloverbud in 2000 and has grown a lot through her 4-H experiences. Mallory is involved in her school, church, community, Youth Education on Stage and her 4-H Club.

“While she has exhibited many things in the county and state fairs, she has made the most of her 4-H opportunities and participated in Project Expo, consumer Choices, Fashion Revue, and Communication Arts every year of her career. Mallory has been a great role model for the younger members of the club,” Mallory’s 4-H leader Lavina Domagala said.

Mallory is the daughter of Todd and Laura Nygard, Williston.

Karissa is an eight-year 4-H member and is currently the president of Sweet Clovers 4-H club where she runs a efficient meeting and is teaching the Robert’s Rules of Order to the other 4-H club members. Karissa is also the WHS student council president and is active in school, community, and her church.

“Karissa has been a joy to have in 4-H since the first day she joined. She has tried every project with determination and in enthusiasm. The best thing about Karissa winning this award is that she is a true ambassador for 4-H, Karissa’s 4-H leader Marcia Velenchenko said.

Karissa is the daughter of Ken and Darci Kjos, Williston.
