Trinity Christian opened up a quick 10-2 lead in the first game and never looked back, winning 25-10, 25-19, 25-10.
Sophomore Alice Trottier stood out for TCS, leading the team with eight digs, second with four kills and second with three aces. She also broke out a jump serve but still managed to be a perfect 20-of-20 in service accuracy.
"It's huge, because we actually had a fair number of girls who didn't have the great serving numbers," said coach Beth Zarling. "Katie Harger was nine-of-10, and along with Alice's 20-for-20, that is going to carry us through."
Harger led the team with five kills and also had four digs. Whitney Kitzan had six aces, and Megan Herr had nine assists. The victory sets up Trinity Christian for a semifinal match with Watford City, the second seed in the tournament. The winner clinches a spot in next week's regional tournament with at least a second seed and goes on to Thursday's district championship game. The loser will be forced into a play-in game for a regional spot on Thursday against New Town.
"I think we need to play like we played them last time," Zarling said. "I think we need to just play with intensity, and play with consistency. We took a game from them last time and played them close in the others. They're smart, so our coverage has to be right on."
