There is still time to register for the “Remember Charlie” safety presentation to be held at The Well on the campus of Williston State College and sponsored by the North Dakota Petroleum Council. The “Remember Charlie” details Charlie Morecraft’s personal near-death experience at a refinery.

The presentation is at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 and at 7 a.m. on Nov. 18. The 90-minute session is free and we encourage you and your employees to RSVP at www.nndoil.org or by calling 701-223-6380. They are expecting over 2,000 attendees.

This powerful message for improving safety in the workplace has been extremely popular across the country. Charlie’s presentation can help decrease your company’s accident rate, motivate employees, strengthen your company, emphasize your personal responsibility of safety and is free and open to the public. This will be counted as one of your safety meetings.

The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the North Dakota Census 2010 are present for the “Charlie” presentation with information on both agency’s services. Lutheran Social Services are having their 90th Birthday on Sunday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. All are invited to stop by for a birthday cake and coffee in the afternoon.

The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce office is closed on Nov. 11 in honor of Veteran’s Day. The chamber invites the public to attend the Veteran’s Day program at 11 a.m. at the old armory.

There is a special guest speaker at the program, special music and a chance for the public to honor those who have served our country. All veterans are invited to a super at the American Legion that evening.

The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce is busy working on the Census 2010 committee. It is very important that all are counted, “It’s in Our Hands”.

We need to be aware that the dollars that comes from our share of the National and State budgets depends on the number of citizens we tally in this next census.

Businesses such as restaurants, clothing store, entertainment also look at the population before they committee to an area.

Anyone who has lived in North Dakota for six months and one day need to fill out their information for North Dakota and not where their families are living or have a home.

Anyone who has worked here for six months needs to be counted here.

We want the energy population as well as senior citizens, college students, snowbirds and hard the to reach populations to be award of the rules as it effects all of us.

10-10-10, 10 questions, 10 minutes for 2010.

If you need someone to come and visit about the census, please call the Chamber at 577-6000.
