Glen Smith

Glen Smith, 65, Green Valley, Ariz., died Oct. 25, 2009, in the arms of his loving wife after a short battle with cancer.

Glen was born in Wenatchee, Wash., on Nov 2, 1943. He graduated from Ellensburg, Wash., High School in 1962 and went on to serve two years in the United States Army and served an additional 5½ years in the Army Reserve.

Glen spent over 40 years in the automotive parts industry, mainly as a sales manager for the CARQUEST Corporation. He spent most of his career traveling for business while based in Los Angeles, Pleasant Hill and the Bay area of northern California.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Folkestad (Halvorsen) Smith, Green Valley; stepson, John David Halvorsen and his family, Phoenix, Ariz., Glen’s daughter, Heather and two grandsons, Nick and John of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Meagen, Katelyn and Ali, Clayton, Calif., and a daughter in Florida; his brother, Don and family, Penryn, Calif., and sister Ida and family, Talent, Ore. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Adeline Folkestad, Williston, and Diane’s sisters and brothers and numerous family members in North Dakota and Missouri.

Cremation has taken place. Condolences may be sent to Diane Smith, 5783 South Lowry Canyon Road, Green Valley, Az., 85622.
