Diane Kay Voeller, 59, died on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, after a lengthy illness at Avera Dougherty Hospice House.

A Mass of Christian burial is at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the St. Therese Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. A visitation is at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A Liturgical prayer service is at 7 p.m.

Diane Kay Monger was born on Jan. 14, 1950, in Williston to Orvin and Alma (Bakken) Monger. Diane was raised in Alamo where she received her education. She earned her nursing degree in Dickinson.

While working at Trinity Hospital in Minot, Diane met and fell in love with Rod Voeller. They were united in marriage on Oct. 27, 1973, in Alamo.

Following their wedding, the couple moved to Crookston, Minn., while there they had their first daughter, Jennifer. The family then moved to Flint, Mich. for two years, before spending 10 years in Jackson, Mich., where Diane gave birth to their second daughter, Angie. In 1988, the family made their home in Sioux Falls, where Diane stayed at home raising their girls. For the last 12 years, Diane worked at North Central Heart Institute in Sioux Falls.

Diane was a marvelous wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed shopping and traveling, but above all adored spending time and spoiling her grandchildren. 

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 35 years, Rod Voeller; two daughters, Jennifer Reuter and her husband, Ryan and Angie Hilton and her husband, Tyson; grandson, Karsten Reuter; two granddaughters, Kayla Reuter and Brianne Hilton, all of Sioux Falls; mother, Alma Monger, Williston; two sisters, Marilyn Woitzel and her husband, Ron, Gardner and Elaine Esterby and her husband, Merlyn, Alamo and many nieces and nephews. Diane is preceded in death by her father, Orvin Monger.
