His funeral will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Halaas is officiating and interment follows in the Riverview Cemetery.
Tim was born in Williston to Clinton and Olive (McAvena) Beard on July 30, 1956.
He was raised in Judson Township and attended first through eighth grades in a rural township school then went on to attend Trenton High School.
On Sept. 24, 1983, Tim was united in marriage to Nancy Smith, Powers Lake. The couple established their home in Williston where they have resided ever since. After high school, Tim worked on the oil rigs, electrician apprentice and worked construction for F & J Construction. He also worked at Dakota Catalyst, where a chemical accident left him disabled at the age of 32.
Tim enjoyed working with wood and was a talented craftsman, whether helping with science fair projects or building rabbit cages for the neighbor kids. He was an inventor, winning third place in the 1994 National Edison of Agriculture Successful Farmer Competition.
He was an avid lover of the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Williston Moose Lodge and NRA.
Tim’s biggest motivation in life was his love for his family. He cherished all the time spent with his wife and daughter, Ashley. Tim was very proud of his daughter, and enjoyed watching Ashley grow up attending her golf tournaments and helping out with any school projects.
Tim was a great role model to all who knew him. His motivation for life inspired many, not letting his disability affect his love and passion for his family and life.
Tim ‘s kind and genuine personality will be missed by his family and friends.
