Kristi Grove

Kristi Lyn Grove (Wells), 38, Williston, passed peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. The angels came to take her home on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009.

Her funeral service is at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at the New Hope Wesleyan Church, Williston. The Rev. Tom Karp and the Rev. Steve Norby are officiating. Interment is at the Hillside Memory Gardens, Williston.

Kristi was born in Beatrice, Neb., on June 23, 1971, to Jerry L Grove and Juanita (Janas-Grove) Grover. Kristi moved to Williston with her family in 1975. She graduated from Williston High School and attended UND-Williston. She met her life partner, Mike Wells, and they made their home in Williston where they worked together in the family business.

Kristi’s children and grandchild were central in her life. She was a constant attendee of her children’s sporting activities and her granddaughter, Keele, brought a special joy to her. Kristi also enjoyed hanging out at the lake, fishing and camping with her family. She and Mike participated in fishing derbies and she also entered into women’s fishing derbies with her friend, Kelly. Even though she had a love of fishing and a keen ability to cook up a mean mess of walleye, Kristi was not about to partake in the fruits of her labor. No fish would pass her lips.

Kristi was an avid pinochle player. She was also a “bunco babe” and loved getting together with her friends. Kristi looked forward to her yearly shopping trips with her best friend, Kelly, and on one occasion a U-Haul was needed to bring back all of her purchases. She liked traveling, which included skiing at Big Sky, Mont. and trips to Las Vegas.

She also enjoyed snowmobiling, flowers and her backyard, where she and Mike often entertained.

Her friends will always remember Kristi’s special way of bringing joy and happiness into any occasion. She was always smiling, laughing and enjoying life.

Kristi’s happiest moments were at home, providing a warm and inviting place for Mike, her girls, family and friends. This is where Kristi found her greatest comfort and peace and all were welcome.

Kristi was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church, where she was baptized into Christ on Feb. 20, 2000.

Kristi is survived by the love of her life, Michael Joseph Wells; two daughters, Cassandra Grove and Ali Wells; two stepsons, Tate Wells, Minot and Jordan Wells, Williston; granddaughter, Keele’ Grayc Guenther; mother, Juanita (Janas) Grover and stepfather Jerry Grover, West Fork, Ark.; father, Jerry L Grove, Wichita, Kan.; stepmother, Betty (Albrightson) Grove, Williston; sister, Kimberly Lyn Grove, West Fork, Ark.; maternal grandmother, Helen (Janas) Blair, Lincoln, Ark.; paternal grandmother, Marie Christiansen, Eldorado, Kan.; maternal grandfather, Leonard Grove, Eureka, Kan.; uncle, Brad King, Perry, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
