Monday was the latest prove of that.
The Lady Coyotes shot a season-best 388 to finish fourth at the Minot Invitational at the Minot Country Club.
“I’m happy about that,” said Williston girls golf coach Dennis Healy of the team’s improved score.
Miranda Zavalney finished the day with a 85 to pace Williston. Kayla Barke finished with a 96. “She had two holes that she would like to play over,” Healy said of Barke.
Anna Peterson finished the round with a 100, Cari Zavalney shot a 107 and Abby Wilt finished with a 117,
Wilt’s score was an improvement of eight strokes over her last meet, according to Healy.
Rachel Anderson also shot a 138 for Williston.
Minot placed first as a team with a 311. Century was a distant second with a 351. Dickinson came in third with a 358.
Jamestown and Mandan rounded out the team competition with scores of 412 and 427, respectively.
Turtle Mountain and Bismarck were also in competition at Monday’s meet, but neither had have enough players to post a team score.
“The course was beautiful and in great shape,” Healy said of Monday’s event.
Mickayla Nagel, of Minot, won a playoff hole against her twin sister, MacKenzie to win medalist honors.
Williston will golf Thursday at the Dickinson Invitational to be played at Heart River Golf Course.
