The 28-by-60 modular building was put on its foundation by the O’Neil Company of Williston while New Public School District 8 superintendent Greg McNary watched and asked questions.
McNary is no doubt relieved the building arrived before school starts.
The facility was supposed to come earlier, but there were some delays.
However, bathrooms, storage and an entryway need to be built on to the facility. It's possible that may not be completed by the first day of school, which begins Aug. 26.
The structure also has to be connected to electricity, plumbing must be installed, some of the siding needs fixing and the classroom materials must be moved in, McNary said.
If the structure is not ready by the time school begins, students won't have to be bused to the district's Round Prairie like they were at the end of last year.
There is room for the students to share space with other students until the building's completed, McNary said.
This past March 24, the second- and third-grade classroom building was ruined due to an electrical fire.
Although it didn't burn down, it was considered unusable due to the smoke and water damage.
For the remainder of the 2008-2009 school year, students were bused to Round Prairie Elementary located about 17 miles outside of Williston.
The new building was purchased from the Northwood School District for $15,000.
It was housed in Hatton and is slightly bigger than the original building.
