Marla was born on Aug. 14, 1953, in Ekalaka, Mont. She was the daughter of Bill and Delores (Waterland) Tiedemann. She graduated from Tioga High School in 1971 and attended college at UND in Grand Forks.

Marla lived in various places until she settled in Gillette, Wyo., where she worked at the Sunflower Elementary School and raised her children, Breanna and Ryan. She moved to Tioga, when she married Myron Iverson on June 28, 1998, and resided on their farm until her death. Marla had many interests in life. She was an avid gardener and loved to read. She thoroughly enjoyed mowing on the lawn tractor and playing with her dogs.

She was very creative and took part in several craft fairs. Marla had a unique ability to take items that would have otherwise been discarded and turn them into objects of beauty.

However, her husband Myron and their children were the passion of her life. Throughout her months of illness, they as well as the rest of her family, were her utmost concern.

Marla had been involved in numerous Bible studies throughout her life and had a deeply rooted faith. She was so looking forward to entering into the most recent Bible study with friends Donna Haustveit, Laurie Rieniets and daughter, Breanna.

Marla died Monday July 20, 2009, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

She was truly loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed terribly.

Marla is survived by her husband, Myron, Tioga; daughter, Breanna Thornberg, Tioga; son, Ryan Thornberg, currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., with the Marines; stepdaughters, Yvette (Aaron) Kraft, and Yvonne (Jeff) Delzer, all of Bismarck, and Jenna Iverson, Brisbane, Australia; mother, Delores Tiedemann, Tioga; sister, Coty (Rick) Johnson, Tioga; brother, Corby (Pat) Tiedemann, Artesia, NM; niece, Tori Johnson, Tioga and nephew, Tyler Johnson of Gillette.

Marla was preceded in death by her father, Bill Tiedemann.

Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and an hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
