Relay for Life to hold kitchen tours

Relay for Life will be hosting a Kitchen Tour from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 27 at Cyndy Aafedt McCbe’s home located at 13th and University in Williston. Coffee and Muffins will be served from 9-10 a.m. Tickets are $10.

Church youth to host car wash

Williston’s St. Joseph’s Catholic Church High School Youth Group is having a car wash from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at the 2nd Avenue Sinclair.

The funds are to be used to attend a Catholic youth retreat in St. Paul in August. July art class remains available at center

Students in grades 1-8 and adults may still register for art classes offered in July at the Williston James Memorial Art Center.

Adults can learn how to arrange their flowers and decorate a clay point with mosaics.

Students can transform any household item and a pair of canvas shoes into art and do watercolor painting inspired by a book.

Registration forms may be obtained at the Williston Public Library and at the center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You may also call the center office at 701-774-3601.

Mental illness conference is this week

A conference concerning mental illness sponsored by Williston’s Consumer Family Network is at Williston’s El Rancho on June 24-25.

This is for family, friends and people who have a mental illness.The event hopes to provide a better understanding of mental illness and answers questions you may have regarding mental illness.

Wednesday’s activities begin at 10:30 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. Thursday’s activities begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:15.

A lunch and supper is provided Wednesday, and lunch is provided Thursday.

Good Sam Club to host a meeting

The Good Sam Sakakawea Chapter R.V. Club will meet June 22-24 for a half a day at Mouse River Park, north of Tolley.

Parade to kick off Fourth of July

A parade on July 4 is  to help kick off the Williston’s Independence Day events.  

The 10:30 a.m. parade starts at the north end of the Bethel Lutheran Home Parking lot and continues down Second Avenue West to 11th Street. 

It then jogs east to Main Street, where it then turns south and end at the New Armory.  

 Parade participants should be ready to go by 10:15 a.m.

A parade starter is to be available to set the order.

Pet Parade to again be held on July 4

 A Pet Parade is to be held as part of the HomeTown Williston’s 4th of July celebration in Harmon Park.

Pet owners are encouraged to bring their pets and be part of the parade.

The parade starts at 3 p.m  and participants are encouraged to register at the center gazebo prior to the start of the parade.
