Suzie Pederson passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday evening, March 8, 2009, at the Trinity Medical Center, Minot. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga. The Rev. Rodger Olson will officiate.

Friends and family are welcome to sign an online guest register and share condolences at www.fulkersons.com. Fulkerson Funeral Home of Tioga is assisting the family with arrangements.

Suzie was born in Shawnee, Okla., to Milton and Louise (Cawthon) Back on Aug. 11, 1939. She attended school in many states before the family finally settled down in Tioga, where she graduated from Tioga High School in 1957. She then went on to attend the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks for two years before returning to Tioga.

On Oct. 13, 1959, she was united in marriage to Ronald Pederson in Tioga. They made their home in Tioga at first and moved to Gillette, Wyo., for a short period before returning to Tioga, where they raised their four boys.

She was a teacher’s aide for many years at the Central Elementary School in Tioga and then started her own business called Dakota Trends, which was located on Main Street in Tioga. She ran that business until she retired and moved to Texas and then later returned back to North Dakota in 2002. She enjoyed playing bridge and most other card games and liked to visit with her friends to see what was happening around town. More than anything, she loved to see her grandchildren and always had a smile on her face for them. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and she will be deeply missed.

Suzie is survived by her son, Rodney (Rachel) of Chandler, Ariz., and their children, Alexis and Zachary; son, Darren (Dana) of Tioga and their son Kaden; son, Chad (Amy) of Fargo and their children, Michael and MacKenzie and son, Ryan (Kera) of Velva and his children, Taylor and Tace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Louise; and her husband, Ronnie.
