A man convicted of aggravated indecent exposure in Michigan in 2007 has been identified as a registered sex offender who has moved to Williston, the Williams County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday morning.

Ryan Alan Vriesman is a resident at 6700 2nd Ave. W., Lot 38A in Williston. The sheriff‘s office reported Vriesman is a high-risk offender.

The North Dakota Sex Offender Web site states Vriesman was convicted in Mason County District Court on Dec. 11, 2007. In accordance with North Dakota state law, this individual must register as a sexual offender or offender against children.

Vriesman is not wanted by law enforcement at this time and has served the sentence ordered by the court.

This notification is not intended to increase fear in the community; rather, it is the belief of the sheriff’s office that an informed public is a safer public. This notice is required by the North Dakota Century Code 12.1-32-15, which mandates law enforcement agencies to disclose to the public relevant and necessary registration information when a sexual offender registered under this section is a public risk and public disclosure of the registration is necessary for public protection, according to a news release by the sheriff’s office.
