Four Williston High wrestlers took second place in their weight classes at the WDA tournament in Minot on Saturday, and eight more placed for the Coyotes to qualify for the state tournament.

Paul Michaelson (103 pounds), Kirby Kain (112 pounds), Eddie Maisey (119 pounds), and Luke Michaleson (189 pounds) each advanced to the finals and took second place for the Coyotes.

“It started off really good, but the second half wasn’t as good as we normally do,” said coach Chuck Michaelson. “ But it’s all about getting kids qualified, and 12 sounds pretty good.”

Also placing for the Coyotes were Morgan Axelson (3rd, 135), Jacob Sargent (3rd, 160), Nick Schoedel (6th, 125), Duffy Weyrauch (7th, 171), Donavan Sorenson (7th, 285), Cody Bakken (7th, 152), Joe Rice (8th, 130), and Adam Lervick (8th, 140). Team results
