Dr. Patricia Adkins, provost at Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Raymond Nadolny, vice president of extended learning at Lake Washington Technical College at Kirkland, Wash., and Greg Timberlake, administrator for Hinds Hospice of Fresno, Calif., are the finalists.
Adkins has been in her current position since 2006, prior to which she was promoted to the chief executive officer for St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburgh, Fla., in 2002. She first joined St. Petersburg in 1998 as associate vice president of Educational and Student Services.
From 1990-98, Adkins was the director of Business and Industry Training at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Ill. She was promoted to director of grants for Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Ill., from 1987-1990. She first joined Shawnee Community College in 1984 as a training specialist in the Dislocated Workers Center before becoming director of its Small Business Development Center in 1985.
Nadolny has held his current position since 2008 after first joining the Lake Washington institution in 2000 as vice president of institutional advancement. From 1992 to 2005 he was an associate faculty member at Cochise Community College in Arizona teaching philosophy, ethics, logic and world religions courses. He was executive director of development for the Cochise institution from 1996-2000, was its director of occupational education from 1995-96 and its school to work and tech prep coordinator from 1990-95.
Nadolny was a youth minister in Ashland, Ore., from 1989-91, and taught high school from 1998-90.
Timberlake has held his current position since the spring of 2005, and has been a senior lecturer in organizational leadership at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., since 2005. He was assistant vice president at Alliant International University in Fresno, Calif., from 2000-2005.
Timberlake was vice president at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, Minn., from 1998-2000, and was vice president of Enrollment and Student Services at Suomi College in Hancock, Mich., from 1992-1998.
He was assistant dean of students at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, from 1988-92 and was director of conference services and assistant director of residential services from 1981-88 at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
The WSC Presidential Search Committee was required to forward three names to the state board for consideration. Search committee Chair Dick McKennett is to provide the state board with a report prior to the start of today's interviews.
The state board is scheduled to hold an executive session at 12:50 p.m. in the Alumni Room of Stevens Hall after completion of the interviews to discuss its choice. The board is to then resume its public meeting to announce its decision.
