Mandy Nelson Mandy Lynn Nelson, 33, Crosby, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, with the Rev. Ron Dahle officiating. Burial will follow at the Ambrose Cemetery in Ambrose. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Stakston-Martin Funeral Home in Crosby and also one hour before the service at the church. Mandy was born on Oct. 29, 1975, in Williston, the daughter of Michael and Lyla (Wrolson) Bakke. She was raised and educated in Crosby and attended Crosby High School. Mandy married Randy Nelson on May 11, 2001, in Minot. Her children always came first in her life. She also enjoyed planting flowers and watching Law and Order, as well as other crime solving shows on TV. She also enjoyed watching Rachel Rea. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She also fought a courageous three-year battle with cancer. Mandy was preceded in death by an infant son and her grandparents. She is survived by her husband, Randy Nelson of Flaxton; children, Matthew and Jenna Nelson of Crosby and Roxanne Nelson of Flaxton; parents, Mike and Lyla Bakke of Crosby; brother, Mike Bakke and wife Sarah and their daughter, Hallie of Bismarck; grandfather’s, Ed Bakke of Crosby and Vic Renville of Cody, Wyo.; grandmothers, Margaret Bakke of Crosby and Dorothy Nelson of Kenmare; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
