The local girls Class B basketball season kicked off Monday night with the Fabulous 14 tournament in Trenton.

The Divide County girls basketball team defeated Trenton 55-38.

Same Hove led Trenton with 18 points and also had six rebounds. Siera Zimmerman had nine points, and Taylor McCormick had eight rebounds.

Heather Holm scored 11 points for Divide County and had three steals, and Morgan Renner had 10 points and six rebounds. Mariah Jacobs shot 4-for-8 from the field for nine points and seven rebounds. Divide County 55, Trenton 38

Grenora-Westby fell behind 18-7 in the first quarter but came flying back to defeat Mandaree 54-52 in overtime.

Hallie Westgard had 16 points for Grenora-Westby, and Samantha Olson had 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Alison Carlson had nine points and 14 rebonds.

Mandaree had two players with double-doubles. Ashly Hall had 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Marie Spotted Horse had 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Kenmare got 13 points from Macie Harris and 12 points from Kendra Miller to help defeat Powers Lake 53-31.

Powers Lake was led by Paige Holby’s 10 points, and Blair Tande had nine points with 7-for-8 free-throw shooting. Samantha Jorgenson had five points, and Katy Clark had six.

Tioga flipped a two-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter into a three-point win against Burke County. Burke County’s May Erickson had a game-high 19 points, and Chelsey Johnson had 10 points with two three-pointers.

Katrina Kutter led Tioga with 13 points, Kasandra Wolla had nine, and Brenna Moore and Karli Olson each had eight.

Stanley’s Rachel Mehus scored 20 points to lead her team past Parshall 72-43. Jasmin Pappa had 14 points, and ReeAnn Mehus had 10 as the Blue Jays jumped out to a 23-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Kaycee Packineau had 14 points for Parshall, Taylor Myrick had 12 and Shanaye Packineau had eight for Parshall, which shot 17-for-23 from the free-throw line.

New Town took a 30-21 lead into halftime against Ray and made it hold up for a 42-37 victory.

Shayna Taft had 22 points with four three-pointers for New Town, with 19 points coming in the first half. Shelby Baker had eight points, and Cheyenne Brady and Alvina Wolf had six each.

Samantha Heier led Ray with 22 points, including two three-pointers, and Adrian Larson had 11.
