Bill Raddle is earning the honor at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, at Faith United Methodist Church in Williston.
The 18-year-old Williston High School senior Bill Radle joined the Tiger Cubs in 1997 and earned four badges during his time as a Scout: Bobcat, wolf, bear and webelos.
In 2002, he earned the Cub Scout highest rank - the Arrow of Light Award. Out of all of his scouting experiences, he enjoyed the Pinewood Derby the most.
Radle joined Boy Scout Troop 368 of Faith United Methodist Church in February 2002. He attended summer camp at Camp Wilderness in Minnesota five times while he was a Scout. He became a member of the Order of the Arrow in 2004 and then became a part of the Brotherhood of the Order of the Arrow in 2005. Altogether, he earned 42 badges.
Another highlight came in 2004, when he participated in a 50-mile hike to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area in Montana. He went to the Scout National Jamboree in Fort AP Hill, Va., in 2005.
For his eagle project, Radle helped to install 100 flag pole holders along University Avenue near Williston State College. For the project, he consulted Bob Evans of the Veteran's Administration.
Radle said Evans started asking one day if he was looking for an eagle project and gave him the suggestion.
For this project, Radle had the help of other Scouts and some of his family and friends, but he directed the project.
Radle said it took about two weekends to dig all the holes, but the project included some preliminary planning as well.
As for his future plans, Radle plans to attend WSC next year. His parents are Ron and Lauri Radle, and his two older sisters are Katie and Elizabeth Radle.
