Cecelia 'Cissy' Davidson

Cecelia “Cissy” Davidson, 66, of rural Arnegard, died at her rural Arnegard residence on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at the Watford City Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Sheldon McGorman will officiate and interment will follow at Wilmington Cemetery in Arnegard.

Cissy Waldrop was born Sept. 9, 1942, to Charles and Johnnie Marie (Moore) Waldrop in Riverside, Calif. Upon her father’s discharge from the military after World War II, the family moved to Seminole, Texas, where they resided until later moving to Wyoming when Cissy was 12. She attended several schools around the Wyoming, Montana and North Dakota areas while following her father’s work in the oilfield.

Cissy was united in marriage to George Gates. To this union three children were born. This marriage ended in divorce. On Feb. 12, 1973, Cissy was united in marriage to Donald Davidson at Deadwood. The couple resided in Gillette until 1977, when they moved to Arnegard, where they have resided since.

She had a love of cuddly puppies and babies. She was a very accomplished at crocheting. One Christmas she knitted an afghan for every girl at the Eckert Youth Home in Williston. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Watford City Assembly of God Church.

Cissy is survived by her husband, Don of Arnegard; son, Paul Gates of Watford City; daughter, Tarla Dolbare of Gillette; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Sid (Kay) Waldrop of Moorcroft, Wyo., Don (Carolyn) Waldrop of Gillette, Johnny (Paula) Waldrop of Medford, Ore.; and sisters, Mary (Jerry) Joslyn of Pine Haven, Wyo., Debbie (Denny) Brown of Bakersfield, Calif.; and Teresa Sikvalind of Glendive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Johnnie Marie; and daughter, Tina Percifield.

Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Watford City on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
