Elaine A. Martinson, 67, of Tioga, died Oct. 10, 2008, at Trinity Hospital in Minot. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at the First Lutheran Church in Tioga. The Rev. Sandra Anderson will officiate and interment will follow at United Cemetery, Tioga. Friends are encouraged to send the family condolences online at www.fulkersons.com.
Elaine Ardis (Haustveit) Martinson was born June 15, 1941, to Stanley and Cora (Lerohl) Haustveit at Powers Lake. She attended Haustveit School through grade school and graduated from Tioga High School in 1959.
On Aug. 16, 1959, she was united in marriage to her one true love, Lee Martinson at Tioga. To this beautiful marriage, four daughters were born: Renee Elaine, Gwendolyn Joy, Sonya Marie and Cora Lee. Elaine was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed doing things for others. She loved to cook and bake and was a beautiful seamstress. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Tioga where she spent many hours volunteering.
She loved spending time at the lake with Lee. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and pinochle. Elaine was known for her great sense of humor. She had strong faith and a feisty spirit.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Lee of Tioga; daughters, Renee Martinson of Williston, Gwendolyn (Adam) Josephson of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Sonya (Mark) Owan of Williston, and, Cora (Tony) Turner of Fargo; eight grandchildren; brother, Duane (Phyllis) Haustveit of rural Tioga; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Deloris; brother, Curt; and nephew, Stephan.
Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Tioga on Sunday from 1-5:30 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
