Her graveside service will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Wildrose Cemetery. Pastoral assistant Kathy Paulson will officiate.
Leone was born on Aug. 7, 1921, to Charles and Ella (Quitt) Vicha in Kenmare. She attended Corinth Grade School until eighth grade and graduated from Alamo High School in 1940.
On April 8, 1942, she married Earl Nelson of Lignite. Leone and Earl farmed west of Wildrose for many years before moving into Wildrose in the fall of 1989. Earl passed away in 2003 and Leone continued living in Wildrose until moving to the Good Samaritan Home in Crosby in March of this year.
Leone was a great cook and her lemon pie was a special treat. She also had a love of gardening, dancing and card games. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was active in the Wildrose Senior Citizens. Survivors include her children, Gary (Shirley) Nelson of Wildrose, Terry Nelson of Wildrose, Linda (Kevin) Cox of Trinidad, Colo., and Keven Nelson of Wildrose; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
