Sandra Alberts

Sandra Lynn Alberts, 60, of Crosby, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Crosby.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at the Crosby City Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Dahle officiating. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday before the service at Stakston-Martin Funeral Home in Crosby.

Sandra Lynn Alberts was born June 18,1948, to Ervin (of Colgon/Crosby) and Romona (Mantei) (of Fortuna/Crosby) Alberts in Seattle, Wa.

She attended Sammamish High School and graduated in 1966. After high school she married George Hanson and together they lived in Washington State and began raising their two children. After several years of marriage Sandra and George divorced leaving Sandra to raise their children on her own.

Sandra moved back and forth from Washington to Crosby on several occasions but finally decided to make Crosby her permanent home in the mid 1990's. Here she worked on adopting and raising her granddaughter Shantel Hanson. Sandra worked as a paralegal for States Attorney Michel Stefonowicz until she was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. Sandra was preceded in death by her sister, Arlette Porter of Crosby; her father, Ervin G Alberts, Crosby, and her grandparents, Rudy and Mable Mantei of Fortuna/Williston.

Sandra is survived by her son, Joseph (Lesley) Hanson of Renton, Wash.; daughter, Nicole Hanson of Missouri; granddaughter/daughter, Shantel Hanson of Crosby/Missouri; grandson Damion Hanson of Crosby; mother, Romona Thompson of Crosby; brothers, Ervin *Sonny* Alberts Jr. of California and Russell Alberts of Arkansas; niece, Gina (Richard) Johnson of Crosby; grandnieces Johanna, Tiffany and Shelly Johnson of Crosby, and grandnephew Richard L. Johnson of Crosby.

Stakston-Martin Funeral Home of Crosby is in charge of arrangements.
