Get out the Pine Sol and clean off the bench because the Teton players are not there. The Williston State College women's basketball team swept a pair of "laughers" over the weekend with wins over the Great Falls University JV and the Univesity of Mary JV in the El Rancho Classic at "The Well".

The Lady Teton bench saw ample minutes in both games thrashing Great Falls 70-37 and while the U of Mary JV put up more of a fight, WSC still dumped them 64-43.

"Everyone got a chance to play and we got a chance to work on some things that are hard to simulate in practice. You don't really see it come to fruittion unless you can do it in a game," said WSC coach Hunter Berg.

The Lady Tetons (9-3) will get back on the road for the Lake Region Classic in Devils Lake Saturday and Sunday. MSU-Bottineau’s Lady Jacks also swept the weekend in the El Rancho Classic, dumping the Great Falls JV 77-55 Saturday and edging the University of Mary JV 52-50 on Friday.

Whitney Sundheim only scored six points, but they were the key that unlocked the Lady Tetons offense.

WSC had struggled to find the range from beyond the three-point arc going just 3-of-16 in the game and were 0-6 in the first half.

The Tetons led 40-30 in the second half when Sundheim drained back-to-back threes, Lindsay Gunderson scored down low and Amber Adams added a three and four free throws to open up a 56-32 lead.

“We definitely struggled from the outside and in the first half we had a couple of good defensive possessions, but it was a downward slide from there. We talked at halftime and came out much better in the second half on defense, and then we hit a couple shots and stretched out the lead,” said Berg.

Gunderson scored 13 of her game-high 18 points in the second half. “She really did a nice job of catching, turning and scoring,” said Berg.

Adams added 15 points and eight boards, while Heidy Bouchard had a good first half to end with 12 points and three blocked shots.

Leading Mary was Adrianne Nelson with 17 points and Mandy Andreasen with 11.

Again the Tetons played without Kia Herbel, who is nursing a nagging calf injury.

The Williston State defense locked down the Lady Argo offense in the first half limiting the visitors to just one shot per trip and most of those weren't good looks. The Lady Tetons held Great Falls to 21 percent shooting in the first half, and didn't allow a field goal until 5:26 left in the half when Danielle Heny drained a three-pointer.

Meanwhile, the Teton offense scored at will. Amber Adams started the game with a layup, Kayla Miller drained a three and Heidy Bouchard scored back-to-back buckets as the Tetons were off and running to a 12-0 lead.

After a free throw by Argos' Rhondell Esterby, it was all Tetons, who went on a 22-0 run, which included a pair of threes by Whitney Sundheim.

"We got a chance to work on our zone offense and I thought we had good ball reversal tonight," said Berg.

The entire Teton roster got in the game and 13 players got on the scoreboard led by Sam Botsford's 10 points, while Sundheim added nine and Miller had eight.

One of the WSC top scorers, Kia Herbel, got a rest and didn't score in only a couple minutes of action.

Great Falls had one bright spot, ending the game on a 14-1 run as they drained four straight three-pointers. Heny finished with 18 points and Callie Coughlan added 10.
